Trees

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved trees.  They are so beautiful and to me, they are a natural representation of strength.  I went to the Redwood forest for the first time a few years ago and it was one of the most peaceful places I have ever been.

I came across this quote in my bible study this morning:  "The deeper the roots, the stronger and taller the tree will grow."  Well, that wasn't the quote exactly, but you get the point.  This means, the deeper your relationship is with Christ, the taller and stronger you will be as a person.  


Foster this relationship with Him through prayer, studying and fellowship and the spirit of Christ will shine through you wherever you go.

Paul writes:

"Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!  All athletes are disciplined in their training.  They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for the eternal prize.  So run with purpose in every step."  1 Corinthians 9:24-25

I like this verse because it reminds me that living a life for God is a journey, a race.  It's not easy,  but it is the only path that will lead to real fulfillment.  

Trust in God daily and with every step... run towards Him.

Okay, maybe not through the snow...but in Arizona I have had to run through the hot summers, that counts, right?!

This is my first official post on my new blog, "I dream in Marigold." 

I am not the type of person to be able sit down for an extended period of time, so keeping this blog up is going to be kind of a stretch for me.

I am hoping to use this as a place where I can write about what's on my mind, funny things that happen in daily life and whatever is currently inspiring me.

I love to journal anyways and I think this could be a new way for me to document my life.
